Warming Back Up, Mostly Sunny to Start the New Week

High pressure is building in from the west which will bring a much warmer air mass and keep cloudcover to a minimum. This should allow for easy viewing of the partial solar eclipse that peaks at 11:12AM, Monday. Gusty north-northwest winds will continue on Monday as the ridge builds in, but winds will ease into mid-week. Temperatures will keep heading up, peaking at the coast Wednesday and for some inland areas, especially in the south, Thursday. We’ll cool down by the end of the week before a chance of rain this weekend. More on that in the extended forecast below.

AIR QUALITY: Good

Monday:
Mostly sunny with a few high clouds passing through. Warmer, with highs in the low 60s to around 70ºF on the coast and upper 60s to low 70s inland. Gusty west-northwest winds at times, especially on the coast and valleys.

Overnight: Increasing low clouds near the coast, becoming partly cloudy with lows in the 40s. Inland, mostly clear conditions with cooler lows in the 30s to mid 40s. West-northwest winds will remain light.

Tuesday: Sunny and even warmer with widespread 70s and a few inland areas approaching 80ºF. Breezy in the valleys in the afternoon.

Extended: A few high clouds return Wednesday, but they won’t impede the climb of temperatures as most areas will be in the 70s-80s. We’ll begin to cool a bit on the coast Thursday with a few low clouds and a stronger sea breeze possible. Some southern areas will see their hottest temperatures of the week, with mid 80s possible. A trough will then dig down the coast for the end of the week with much cooler temperatures, stronger winds, and the potential for some rain. Stay tuned to the forecast.
