Wet Morning(s)

Two weather systems will slide through the Central Coast in the coming days. The first will arrive overnight, bringing breezy conditions, increased clouds, and patchy, light rain. The second will be here early Thursday and will be the wetter of the two. However, don’t expect a big storm by any means. The pattern will remain somewhat blocked up through the weekend with us stuck in northwest flow. Additional, weaker weather systems are possible through the weekend, though at the moment they look mostly dry. High temperatures are likely to stay seasonable to slightly cool through the period.



Overnight: Mostly cloudy with periods of light rain on the coastal mountains. Drizzle at times elsewhere. Occasionally breezy. Lows in the 40s.

Wednesday: Partly to mostly cloudy with occasional drizzle to very light showers. Cool and breezy with highs in the 50s.

Thursday: Light rain in the morning, then decreasing clouds. Gusty northwesterly winds at times. Cool, with highs in the 50s—40s in the highest elevations.

Extended: Expect a dry and cool day on Friday with patchy morning fog. Another weather system could bring a few showers on Saturday with further possibilities on Monday. High temperatures will remain seasonable to slightly cool.

The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for January 15th – 21st calls for the likelihood of BELOW normal temperatures and ABOVE normal precipitation.
