U.S. Coast Guard rescues two sailors off of Del Monte Beach

MONTEREY, Calif. (KION-TV)- The U.S. Coast Guard Monterey rescued two sailors whose ship overturned off of Del Monte Beach.

Coast Guard officials said they got called out to a water rescue case on Friday afternoon.

Officials said that the two sailors could not re-right their small sailing vessel in high wind conditions. Coast Guard officers noticed the two sailors were experiencing signs of hypothermia and fatigue.

The sailors were rescued and it is unknown what their condition is at this hour.
