Police say she was last seen around 4 p.m. Friday night with an unidentified friend walking away from Sherwood Elementary School.

The school is located on 110 South Wood Street in Salinas.

She is described as 4'10" weighing around 120 pounds. She was last seen wearing a white sweater with a dark blue Disney shirt, black pants and black shoes. Police say the child has a backpack with green trim.

Investigators are telling people via social media this case doesn't meet Amber Alert requirements because "Amber Alerts have specific requirements such as an abduction or license plate info. This isn't either."
