Sunny But Breezy

Gusty north-northwest flow will continue into the work week, to don’t put the patio umbrella up yet. The overall air mass will slowly warm, so you can expect a mild start to the week and above normal temperatures by mid-week—think widespread 60s-70s with a few inland areas reaching the low 80s eventually.

AIR QUALITY: Good

***GALE WARNING***
…for the near coastal waters from Point Pinos south to Point Piedras Blancas in effect until 9PM Monday.

*Northwest winds 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 45 kt and seas 8 to 10 ft.

*Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.

Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for severe conditions.

Sunday:
Mostly sunny with coastal highs in the 60s to around 70ºF and upper 60s to upper 70s. Gusty northwesterly onshore and up valley winds, especially later in the day.

Overnight: Mostly clear with a few low clouds along the coast and patchy fog possible in low, sheltered, and damp areas. Lows in the 40s. A few higher elevation valleys may dip into the 30s. Occasionally gusty northwest winds on the exposed coast.

Monday: Mostly sunny and a touch warmer. Highs in the 60s to low 70s on the coast and 70s to around 80ºF inland. Gusty northwesterly onshore and up valley winds at times.

Extended: Slow warming progresses through mid-week under mostly sunny skies. We’ll remain rain-free likely until around May 4-6 with the chance of a weather system moving through.
