Driver arrested and pedestrian injured in Salinas street racing crash

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV)- A 19-year-old man was arrested on Monday night after he was involved in a street racing crash that injured a pedestrian on Tuesday night.

Salinas Police said that they got a report of a Dodge Charger and an Infiniti that started racing each other on Rossi Street.

Officers said the two cars were driving on North Main Street when they went on the sidewalk and hit a pedestrian.

Investigators said the Dodge Charger flipped on the sidewalk while the Infiniti took off.

Police were able to transport the pedestrian to a local hospital for their injuries. It is unknown on what their condition is at this time.

Officers arrested the driver of the Dodge Charger who is identified as 19-year-old Abraham Quezadamanzo who was charged with reckless driving causing specific injury and illegal speed contest.
