Your Vote, Your Future: Measure P preview

KION

SOLEDAD, Calif. (KION-TV)- The City of Soledad could have an answer on the future electing city council members and a mayor.

Voters will decide whether or not to repeal an ordinance to implement district-based elections or let voters decide in a special election on Tuesday.

If the ordinance stands it would change to a rotating mayor seat among the five council members.

However the Soledad Committee of Voting Rights said that they want to have the right to choose a mayor.
