Police search for suspect accused of stealing man’s wallet in Safeway restroom

DEL REY OAKS, Calif. (KION) Del Rey Oaks police are asking for help as they try to find a suspect accused of stealing a wallet and using the credit cards at several stores.

Police said the suspect, identified as Victor Ramirez, followed a man into the restroom of the Del Rey Oaks Safeway store on Nov. 16 and stole the wallet, but the victim did not know it was gone until he found out that the credit cards inside had been used in several places.

Some of the places where they were used include stores in the Del Monte Shopping Center, a Walgreens in Seaside, a Chevron in Monterey and a Shell gas station in Seaside.

Police said Ramirez was last seen driving a black Volkswagen Passat with a stolen license plate.
