Widespread Smoke

ZACH WEATHER

High pressure to our east eases ever so slightly, allowing for cooler temperatures across the region. With a slightly deeper marine layer, gusty winds will be possible on the coast and in the valleys in the coming days and we’ll see low clouds in the morning. The ridge won’t move all that much over the next week and will continue to hold court over the American West. High temperatures will not be extreme but will remain at or above normal for this time of year. Tropical Cyclone Genevieve will also play a role in the forecast moving forward as it looks like some of its moisture will be drawn into the high levels above our area Sunday/Monday. This will again increase the chance of dry lightning. This time around, fortunately, conditions won’t be as hot or dry.

Thursday: A few low clouds in the morning, but otherwise heavy smoke with periods of falling ash. Warm, with coastal highs in the upper 60s to upper 70s and 80s to low 100s inland. Hot, dry, and breezy conditions can be expected around all area fires. Further growth and smoke production is likely. Low clouds fill in for the evening.

Overnight: Widespread smoke with some falling ash. Low clouds developing for the coast and nearby valleys. Lows in the 50s on the coast, but 60s to 70s inland. Some fog and drizzle possible.

Friday: A few low clouds in the morning, but otherwise smokey. Warm, with coastal highs in the upper 60s to upper 70s and 80s to low 100s inland. Hot, dry, and breezy conditions can be expected around all area fires. Further growth and smoke production is likely.

Extended: Temperatures will cool a touch more this weekend but will remain seasonable to slightly warm. High clouds will be on the increase late Saturday into Sunday as Genevieve’s high level moisture arrives. (Mostly) dry thunderstorms will be possible Sunday/Monday.ADVERTISING
