UPDATE: Two suspects arrested for burglary at a Castroville church

UPDATE 10/28/15 8:06 p.m.: Two people have been arrested in connection to a burglary at a Castroville Church.

According to the Monterey County Sheriff’s Office, investigators received numerous calls Wednesday identifying the suspects as Luis Garcia Lopez and Yvonne Jessica Martinez.

Lopez was arrested for numerous warrants and possession of meth.

Martinez was found on Clark Street in Salinas near a car with children’s toys.

Martinez initially denied playing a role in the burglary, but later confessed to the committing the crime with her boyfriend, Lopez.

UPDATE: A Go Fund Me page has been setup to try and raise money for the stolen gifts. Staff at Our Lady of Refuge Church said they’ve been getting a lot of calls about people wanting to donate.

Monterey County deputies arrested one person and are looking for a second suspect accused of stealing Christmas presents from a Church in Castroville.

Deputies said an estimated $500 to $600 worth of toys were taken form Our Lady of Refuge Church on October 16. Those toys were collected last Christmas and were to be handed out this year.

Surveillance video shows a woman and a man taking the toys. Deputies confirmed only the woman has been arrested.
