Cooler Weather and Rain Showers

The next storm system is on its way, but ahead of it, moist southwesterly flow will continue. At the surface, we’ll see onshore flow with low clouds and muggy, seasonable conditions. Eventually, some drizzle will be possible. The storm system’s cold front will arrive early on Saturday with scattered rain showers possible. This won’t be all that strong of a front and we’ll see partial clearing late in the day. The next round of rain will be possible early next week as another storm system anchors off of Southern California. It will push, mild, moist air north into our region and likely some rain as well.


Friday: Partly to mostly cloudy, cooler, and occasionally breezy. Highs in the 50s to 60s for most areas, though a few southern valleys may touch 70ºF. Some drizzle possible near the coast late.

Overnight: Scattered showers possible throughout the night. Expect coastal lows in the upper 40s to low 50s with mid 30s to upper 40s inland.

Saturday: Mostly cloudy with scattered showers early. Some clearing late. Highs mainly in the 50s.
 
Extended: We’ll catch a break on Sunday, with a slight warm-up. Additional rain chances arrive Monday/Tuesday, though it will be a little warmer with southerly flow. Warmer weather expected by mid-week.

The outlook from the Climate Prediction Center for March 13th-19th calls for the likelihood of BELOW temperatures and ABOVE normal precipitation.
