Sunny Sunday but Chilly

Expect cool, occasionally windy conditions on our Sunday, but we’re likely clear rain. A warming trend starts Monday and we'll be back up to the 70s and 80s by mid-week. If you are traveling through the Sierra Nevada, prepare for winter driving conditions Saturday into Sunday morning.

AIR QUALITY: Good

Sunday: Drier, with clouds clearing and becoming sunny but still cool temps and breezy with WNW winds. Highs will be in the mid to upper 50s coastal and low to mid 60s inland.

Monday: Clouds and sunshine with temps climbing just a bit but still on the cool side. Highs low 60s coastal and mid to upper 60s inland. Breezy at the coast and winds will calm down a bit in most inland areas.

Extended: Our weather pattern will return to sunny, warm and breezy conditions. Temperatures return to normal by Tuesday and will be above for the rest of the week. Because of the wind direction, Santa Cruz will be considerably warmer than Monterey.

*Note: Any alerts from the National Weather Service in Monterey will be noted in italics above. Alerts may be edited for brevity or local clarification (in parenthesis).
