New businesses coming to Oldtown Salinas

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV)- UPDATE ON OCT. 18, 2023 AT 4:32 PM- More local businesses are starting to open up in Oldtown Salinas.

The Monterey based Heirloom Pizza will be opening up their second location on Saturday afternoon.

The restaurant will feature live music and have a tiki bar on the second floor.

Michael Foley who is the owner of Heirloom Pizza says he is eager to open their second location.

"There are a lot of balls in the air, but we feel confident that we are going to juggle them successfully," Foley said. "We are going to have a great opening on Saturday."

Foley told KION that he is excited about more local businesses opening up in a lively area.

Jane Parker who lives in Salinas says that with more businesses opening up soon, more people will be visiting Salinas.

"So, more and more people want to spend time here," Parker said. "I think Salinas City Council has done a really good job to create this kind of environment where people want to come."

Another business that will soon open in Oldtown Salinas is Sweeet Reba's. The Carmel Valley based bakery is scheduled to open their second location by next summer.

Amy who lives in Salinas says she will be excited to see one of her favorite bakeries come to Salinas.

"We're huge fans," Amy said. "And we won't have to drive all the way to Carmel Valley for our cookies.

I reached out to the owners of 31st Grill which is located on John Street. The owners told KION that they are expected to have their grand opening in November.

The popular Monterey deep-dish restaurant will be opening its second location in Old Town Salinas on Saturday, confirmed the restaurant to KION.

The new spot Live@Heirloom Pizza Company will open its doors on Saturday at 4 p.m. The restaurant will be significantly bigger than its Monterey location and have two floors.

It will serve as not only a pizza place but will have a full bar and live music on the first floor a banquet room and a Tiki bar on the second floor that will open later in the Winter.

It will be open six days a week from Wednesday through Thursday, and it will be closed on Tuesdays.

Lunch hours will be from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and they will open for dinner starting at 4 p.m. and close at around 9 p.m. on weekdays. The plan is to be open through midnight on Friday and Saturday.
