HOLLISTER, Calif. (KION) An 18-year-old man and 17-year-old juvenile are facing attempted murder charges in connection to a shooting at a Hollister gas station.

On May 8, police responded to a several calls reporting a fight at Jessie's Gas on San Benito Street that resulted in people possibly being shot, but when they got to the scene, everyone involved had left.

Ulysses Urbina was detained when he was found apparently driving one of the suspect vehicles, but he ended up being arrested for his alleged involvement in the initial fight and was not considered a shooting suspect. He was booked into the San Benito County Jail and charged with assault with a deadly weapon and conspiracy to commit a crime.

When the two shooting victims were taken to the hospital, police were able to contact them.

Investigators said they began looking for the vehicle that was seen leaving with the suspected shooter using information from a witness and surveillance cameras.

They began conducting surveillance at the address associated with the vehicle in the 400 block of Rajkovich Way, but when there was no activity for several days, detectives served a search warrant. The detectives said it looked as if those who lived there had not been home since the shooting, but they found suspected evidence.

Police got in contact with a family member of the suspected shooter who agreed to help police find them. With the family member's help, two people agreed to go to the police department to meet with detectives.

Last Friday, 18-year-old Manuel Juarez was booked into the San Benito County Jail and a 17-year-old juvenile was booked into Juvenile Hall on attempted murder charges.

Police are continuing to investigate. Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 831-636-4330.
