NEW ELECTRIC SCHOOL BUS
KION

SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION) The first all-electric school buses in Santa Cruz County were unveiled Tuesday at Green Acres School.

The $400,000 buses were funded by two grants from the Monterey Bay Air Quality District and the Hybrid Vehicle Incentive Program.

“On one hand, the buses allow our students and our teachers to explore the environment around them and go on different field trips all around this area," Live Oak School District Superintendent Lorie Chamberland said. "On the other hand, they’re helping maintain and sustain this environment we live in.”

The buses will serve the Live Oak School District and the Santa Cruz City School District.
