Alleged tagger arrested in Capitola after running from police

Capitola police said a suspect was arrested Sunday evening after allegedly tagging a retaining wall on 41 st Street near Chase Bank.

Officers said witnesses claimed Alexander Tinaza, 21, spray painted the word “nerds” on the wall.

Police said Tinaza initially ran from police, causing a brief pursuit, but he was eventually arrested.

Tinaza was booked into the Santa Cruz County Jail and he is currently on probation for vandalism.
