SALINAS, Calif. (KION) The Monterey County Agricultural Commissioner said the office has created a dedicated phone number for agricultural workers to report safety concerns.

The Ag Commissioner's Office said it can be used to report any concern related to safety, including concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic, wildfire smoke or the use of pesticides.

The number is available for English and Spanish speakers, and it will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The office has the authority to act on pesticide use, but concerns outside it's authority will be referred to other agencies.

The phone number is 831-809-2394. It is currently active and available.
