Rapid Warm-Up

ZACH WEATHER

High pressure builds in, sending warmer, dryer air into the region. Light winds at the surface and northerly offshore flow aloft will allow temperatures to rise rapidly early today, even for coastal areas. The ridge of high pressure will remain in place along the West Coast through the upcoming weekend, so you can expect an extended period of warm, mostly sunny weather with a few exceptions you'll see below in the detailed forecast/

Wednesday: Mostly sunny and immediately warmer. Expect coastal highs in the 70s-80s with widespread 80s to low 90s inland. Breezy over the hills early, then for the inland valleys in the afternoon.

Overnight: A few clouds possible near the coast, otherwise clear. Expect lows in the 40s with a few spots on the coast only dipping into the low 50s. Breezy at times.

Thursday: Mostly sunny and warm once again. A surge of southerly winds on the ocean may push some low clouds into the north side of the bay late. Expect coastal highs in the upper 60s to low 80s with widespread 80s-90s inland. A bit breezy for inland valleys in the late afternoon and early evening.

Extended: High temperatures will remain above normal through Father's Day Weekend with occasional low clouds near the coast and occasional passing high clouds. Saturday is looking a bit breezy for inland valleys. Saturday is also the Summer Solstice, which occurs at 2:44PM PDT.
