PRUNEDALE, Calif. (KION) SPCA Monterey County is offering a reward for information about the person or persons responsible for killing multiple animals on Schoch Road.

On Wednesday, the organization got a call about six pet rabbits and two pet goats found dead on a property. The SPCA said the injuries appeared to be caused by humans.

The SPCA is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever is responsible for their deaths.

“We hope this reward will inspire someone to come forward with information,” says Angeles Lopez, SPCA Humane Officer. “The owner of the animals was distraught that something like this would happen to his animals. The scene was incredibly disturbing. Our goal is to find the person responsible so this never happens again.”

Anyone with information is asked to call the SPCA at 831-373-2631. The person or persons responsible could face animal cruelty charges.
