Warming Up, Then Rain Returns
Air Quality Report (As of 6:30PM)
All reporting stations are good to moderate.
The next storm system is on its way. However, we will experience very warm weather on Monday before it arrives! Rain & wind will hold off until Tuesday when a cold front reaches our shores. It should pass through the Monterey Bay Area Tuesday afternoon with a period of moderate rain and occasionally gusty winds—then isolated showers will linger into the evening.
From the National Weather Service in Monterey…
A high astronomical tide known as a "King Tide" will occur Monday morning, November 16 resulting in minor coastal overflow and flooding into low lying areas along the immediate coastline and San Francisco Bay. High tide heights on Tuesday through late week will slowly diminish, but Tuesday morning`s high tide may warrant an extension of the coastal flood advisory.
**Coastal Flood Advisory**
… for the immediate coasts of Santa Cruz & Monterey Counties until 2PM Monday
High tide will occur mid to late mornings with low tide in the afternoons and early evenings. High tide Monterey Sunday is 9:33 AM at 6.66 feet and Monday 10:14 AM at 6.67
Along the immediate coastline and Bay front as well as coastal marshes and sloughs expect minor sea water overflow into low lying areas such as roadways/underpasses and sidewalks. People visiting beaches may lose entry and exit to coves and narrow beaches.
A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
