Warm Weekend With Sprinkles On Top
A few more sprinkles will be possible overnight into Sunday as moisture drifts in from the south. The overall weather pattern is characterized by a big ridge of high pressure over the West Coast, but also a weak low trapped under the ridge. This pattern is known as a “rex block” and blocking patterns like this typically don’t move much for a few days—or perhaps the entire next week. Temps are expected to stay above normal during the period.
AIR QUALITY: Good to Moderate
Overnight: Mostly cloudy with an isolated shower possible. Mild, with lows in the 40s-50s.
Sunday: Partly to mostly cloudy with scattered mid to high level clouds. A few sprinkles possible early, but otherwise dry. Warm, with highs mainly in the 60s to low 70s. Generally light winds.
Monday: High clouds thin but remain present. Deeper onshore surface flow may bring a few low clouds/fog back to the coast for a while. Cooler, but still seasonable on the coast with highs in the upper 50s to mid 60s and mid 60s to low 70s inland. Occasionally breezy on the coast and in the valleys.
Extended: Mostly sunny, dry conditions expected through the work week with occasional passing high clouds, seasonably warm afternoons, and cool mornings.
