MARINA, Calif. (KION-TV)- The Marina High School Mariners could finally have their own field of dreams.

On Tuesday night, the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District Board of Education voted to certify an environmental impact study for the project.

The improvements include new field lighting with 700 bleacher seats and the installation of artificial turf on all fields.

The baseball diamond would get a new infield and dedicated storage units would be built for multiple teams.

The project would bring an additional parking lot with new handicap and electric vehicle parking.
