Race for Coast Conference title heating up

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) - After a week filled with local rivalry showdowns, the Hartnell Panthers (5-0) find themselves at the top of the Coast Conference in women's basketball.

Hartnell extended its win streak to 10 games, adding Monterey Peninsula and Gavilan to its growing list of victims. Currently tied with San Jose (5-0), both teams are the last remaining undefeated squads in conference play.

The Panthers and Jaguars will now meet Wednesday, January 31 as conference play enters the final stretch. Tip-off in Salinas is set for 5:00 p.m.
