Santa Cruz Police warning people of a parking ticket scam

SANTA CRUZ, Calif. (KION-TV)- The Santa Cruz Police Department said they are warning people of a parking ticket scam.

In a social media post, officers said that fraudulent parking tickets were left on cars parked on Locust Street and around City Hall on Wednesday.

Police said that the ticket shown below is not a City-issued citation.

Officers said that if you seen any fake parking tickets, you are asked to contact the City of Santa Cruz Parking Office or report it to the Santa Cruz Police Investigations Unit at 831-420-5820.

If people have have any doubts about the validity of a parking ticket, you can call the City of Santa Cruz Parking Office at 831-420-6100.
