One person dead after SUV flips into a field, CHP says

MONTEREY COUNTY, Calif. (KION-TV)- The California Highway Patrol confirmed that one person has died in a solo vehicle crash that took place outside of Chualar on Sunday afternoon.

Officers said that the crash happened around 3:24 p.m. on Old Stage Road and Chualar Road. Investigators said that an SUV went off the edge of the road and overturned into a field.

A CHP public information officer told KION that the driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and died at the scene.
