Salinas Main Street shooting suspect arrested after traffic stop

SALINAS, Calif. (KION-TV) -- A Salinas man is arrested in connection to a shooting on Main Street in Salinas back on March 20, 2024.

Salinas Police identified the driver and suspected shooter as 33-year-old Javier Moreno.

Police said Moreno was pulled over overnight and after his vehicle was searched by officers, some meth and an unregistered loaded 9mm firearm was found in the car.

Investigators said the weapon was the same one used in a shooting at the 100 block of Main Street where two people were targeted but no one was hurt.

At the time of the initial press release on March 20, police said they were looking for more than one suspect.

We're reaching out to Salinas Police to confirm if that's still the case.

We're also reaching out to find out what specific charges Moreno is facing.
