Watsonville Police arrest attempted homicide suspect

WATSONVILLE, CALIF. (KION-TV)- An investigation by Watsonville detectives led to the arrest of an attempted homicide suspect on March 1st.

According to officials, detectives served multiple search warrants linked to the case and arrested 18-year-old Antwan Magana for his connection to the incident.

On February 10th, officers responded to reports of a shooting on the 100 block of Riverside Drive a little before 5 PM. When they arrived on scene, officers found a victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and is expected to be okay.

Officials say Magana is a known and active gang member. He was transported to the Santa Cruz County Jail on charges of attempted homicide and gang enhancements.
