Soledad man arrested in connection to a New Year’s Eve robbery, police say

SOLEDAD, CALIF. (KION-TV)- Greenfield and Soledad officers arrested an 18 year old man from Soledad in connection to a robbery.

On the night of December 31st, 2023, a person living in Greenfield was robbed on the 400 block of El Camino Real. In response to the incident, Greenfield Police conducted an investigation that included gathering video surveillance from city and business cameras. Community members were also contacted as witnesses.

After investigating, officers identified 18-year-old Luis Merino of Soledad, as the suspect in this case.

On Wednesday morning, officers from both Greenfield and Soledad served a search warrant at Merino’s home on the 200 block of Fifth Street in Soledad. During the search, officers also found evidence related to the robbery

Merino was taken into custody for robbery.
