One person dead in single car crash on 101 near John Street
SALINAS, CALIF. (KION-TV)- California Highway Patrol is investigating a single car crash that left one person dead on Highway 101 just north of John Street.
According to officials, a 51 year old was driving north on 101 in their 2019 Lincoln Town car. For reasons still unknown, the car veered off the road and overturned. When officers arrived, they pronounced the driver dead on scene. No other people were in the vehicle during the crash.
According to CHP, the cause of the crash is still under investigation. The Monterey County Coroner’s office will provide identification once the next of kin has been notified.
