Two Soledad men arrested on multiple drug and weapons charges, police say

GREENFIELD, Calif. (KION-TV)- Greenfield Police arrested two Soledad men on multiple drug and weapons charges that stemmed from a chase.

Investigators said that a traffic stop turned into a pursuit which ended on the 200 block of 11th Street.

Officers said that the driver of the car who is identified as 25-year-old Juan Jose Vasquez of Soledad fled from the vehicle but Vasquez was arrested.

Police said that Vasquez was in possession of drugs which is suspected of being fentanyl. Investigators said that Vasquez had a loaded 9 mm handgun.

Greenfield Police also said that a passenger who was identified as 36-year-old Manuel Ramos of Soledad was arrested on multiple charges including resisting arrest and transporting a controlled substance.

Vasquez and Ramos were both booked at the Monterey County Jail.

Investigators said that they are investigating possible connections between Ramos and Vasquez in the four recent overdoses in Greenfield.

Greenfield Police said they have responded to four drug overdoses over the past three days including a deadly overdose.
