Hollister Police asking for information in shooting death of father

HOLLISTER, CALIF. (KION-TV) UPDATE ON NOV. 1, 2023 AT 1:08 PM- Hollister Police have released the name of the man killed in a shooting on Oct. 23 on the 1000 block of Monterey Street.

The victim was identified as Jacob Arballo, a 45-year-old lifelong Hollister resident. Police add that Arbolla is survived by his mother, and grandparents, and leaves behind a 6-year-old daughter.

Alrballo is not believed to have any gang ties, said police. The motive for the shooting is unknown.

Police believe this shooting was gang-related. Anyone with information is asked to contact Hollister Police.

Witnesses there at the time of the shooting said that two male subjects were seen fleeing the scene.

Investigators are looking into a shooting that took one person's life on the 1000 block of Monterey Street in Hollister.

At around 11:44 PM on Monday, police responded to reports of a shooting victim. When officers arrived at the scene they found one adult male Hollister was not conscious and not breathing. The man had suffered multiple gunshot wounds.

After multiple attempts of lifesaving measures from multiple personnel, the man was later pronounced dead at the scene.

The Investigations Bureau was notified of the situation and responded to the scene to start an investigation. After evaluation, the incident was determined to be a homicide by investigators.

Witnesses said that around the time of the shooting, two male subjects were seen fleeing the scene.

Hollister Police asked anyone with information that could benefit the investigation to contact Hollister Police at 831-636-4331. If anyone wishes to remain anonymous, they can call WeTip at (800) 78-CRIME. Information given to WeTip could qualify for a reward.
