Thousands without power after vehicle drives into phone line, power poles in Marina

MARINA, Calif. (KION-TV) --

UPDATE 11/17/20 7:19 pm.: According to the PG&E Outage Map, only 116 customers in Marina remain without power. The "estimated restoration time" is 5:27 AM Wednesday.

INITIAL REPORT:

More than three thousand people are without power after a construction vehicle drove into a phone line, dragging down power poles and lines in the process.

PG&E crews were notified of the outage around 1:45 p.m. and worked with first responders trying to remove the vehicle from the scene.

Initially about 4,200 customers lost power in the city.

As of 5 p.m. about 950 customers had their power restored, leaving others in the dark for now.

PG&E has not listed when power will be restored to customers.
