SALINAS, Calif. (KION) A concerned mother has reached out to KION saying her child's district-given Chromebook is being spammed with naked photos and messages soliciting inappropriate acts. She says she's taken pictures of what happened to show to the district, but she hasn't heard back from them.

The child's mother, who is going by her first name, Olivia, says she has called the Salinas City Elementary School District, the principal, and has sent e-mails to the district's IT department.

It has been nearly a week and she says she has yet to receive a response.

KION reached out to Salinas City Elementary School District. Richard Gebin with the district says they had not heard about this problem yet, but they say this is a very serious issue and they will begin investigating.

Salinas City Elementary School District tells KION that if any student is having technical issues with their Chromebook, their parents should to contact the IT department immediately.
