Son accused of killing father

SALINAS, Calif. (KION) A man is in custody after he allegedly shot and killed his father Saturday.

Joseph Sampagnaro Jr. is accused of shooting and killing his father, Joseph Sr., at a Los Laureles Grade Road property shortly after 10:30 a.m.

Witnesses called the Monterey County Sheriff's Office and informed them that Sampognaro had fled the scene in a black corvette.

Deputies tracked down the corvette and took Sampognaro into custody after stopping the vehicle.
