DAVENPORT, Calif. (KION-TV): On Tuesday afternoon, Big Creek Lumber announced they will be handing out the McCrary Family Scholarship for the third consecutive year.

The scholarship was named after the Big Creek Lumber co-founders Bud and Lud McCrary who have owned the company since 1946. The scholarship will help fund the educations of high school seniors who will be pursuing careers in the skilled trades or forestry.

Previous scholarship recipients are also invited to apply for a one-time scholarship renewal for continued support of their education.

Those recipients have gone on to pursue careers in construction management and fire services.
