Cold Monday Morning

Dry weather persists. An “inside slider” drops down the back side of the big Pacific High overnight bringing a few passing clouds, but that’s about it. Cold mornings and warm afternoons will continue through mid-week with light offshore breezes.

Air Quality: Good to Moderate

**FROST ADVISORY**

…for inland areas of Monterey County, all of San Benito County, and the Santa Clara Valley & Diablo Range in Santa Clara County in effect until 9AM Monday.

*Temperatures as low as 32 will result in frost formation.

*Cold conditions will be hazardous to sensitive populations such as unhoused individuals. Cold conditions can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

Take steps now to protect tender plants from the cold.

Be sure to turn off sprinklers ahead of sub-freezing temperatures to avoid creating ice patches on driveways and sidewalks.

This Morning: Partly cloudy with passing low and mid-level clouds, then clearing by dawn. Chilly, with lows in the mid-30s to mid-40s on the coast and 20s to mid-30s inland. Breezy drainage winds in the lower valleys to the bay.

Monday: Sunny with a few high clouds possible late. Breezy offshore winds in the lower elevations early in the day, then a light onshore breeze late. Slightly warm with highs in the low to mid-60s for most areas.

Tuesday: Cold in the morning with 30s-40s on the coast and 20s-30s inland, then mostly sunny and slightly warm with highs in the 60s. Breezy offshore winds early in the day.

Extended: Cold mornings and warm afternoons under mostly sunny skies persists through Thursday with modest afternoon warming day to day. A dry cold front will move through into Friday, ushering a cooler air mass. Onshore flow will keep coastal temps in the 50s Friday and Saturday with some warming into the weekend. The storm track will remain well to our north for the next week or two at least. No rain expected until at least the 23rd at this point and perhaps longer.
