SEASIDE, Calif. (KION) - Monterey Bay F.C. enters the 2024 Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup in third-round play, where the Union will face Irvine Zeta FC.

Irvine is a member of the National Independent Soccer Association. The team is currently on a three-match unbeaten streak composed of two draws and one win. Their last victory came in the second round of the U.S. Open Cup against Ventura County FC. Irvine Zeta advanced thanks to a dominant 3-0 win over Ventura.

Monterey Bay is one of 16 different USL Championship teams entering the competition. The Union are on a two-match winning streak after beating Oakland Roots 1-0 and Las Vegas Lights 3-1. After last year's run in the tournament, the Crisp and Kelp are looking to replicate that same success.

Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. at Cardinale Stadium.
