Suspected drunk driver arrested in Santa Cruz after hitting a retaining wall

SANTA CRUZ Calif. (KION) A drunk driving suspect struck a retaining wall while driving from Salinas to San Jose, according to Santa Cruz Police.

Santa Cruz police said they stopped the suspected drunk driver after he ran a red light on Northbound State Route 1 towards River Street around 2 a.m. Tuesday.  

Officers said they stopped the suspect on Madrone Street in Santa Cruz and arrested him.
