SALINAS, Calif. (KION) Two people have been arrested after they were allegedly found with drugs, packaging materials and cash.

Salinas police were in Chinatown at around 4:30 p.m. Thursday and contacted two people, 35-year-old Veronica Lombera and 45-year-old Rene Alvarado, in a vehicle.

During a search of the vehicle, officers said they found 1.3 pounds of meth, 6 ounces of heroin, a scale, packaging materials and more than $3,000 in cash.

Lombera and Alvarado were booked into the Monterey County Jail for drug possession and drug sales charges. A bail enhancement was added because both of them were out on bail for previous drug charges.
