Listen: Soquel man sings powerful song about wildfire and community

SOQUEL, Calif. (KION) A song shared on social media shares the experience of going through wildfires during the COVID-19 pandemic, from home loss to coming together as a community.

Santa Cruz County is currently facing evacuations due to the CZU August Lightning Complex Fires.

The song is called "Up in Flames," and it is sung by Sam Talbert of Soquel and shared by Ashley Brock.

The chorus goes like this:

We've got fire and disease.

We've got you and me,

Surviving in the darkest times to see.

We've got no-one to blame,

And it'll never be the same.

This old town I love is up in flames.
