Pictures of suspect in theft of firefighter’s wallet released by Sheriff’s Office

BONNY DOON, Calif. (KION) The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office is trying to find a person accused of stealing a firefighter's wallet, and the agency released photos to get help from the community.

In the overnight hours between Friday and Saturday, the Sheriff's Office said a Cal Fire firefighter's wallet was stolen from his vehicle, which was parked at the Bonny Doon Fire Station of Empire Grade Road while he was fighting the CZU August Lightning Complex Fires.

Detectives said the suspect used one of the stolen credit cards at the Shell gas station and Safeway on 41st Avenue in Capitola.

The suspect is described as male with light-colored, shoulder-length hair. He was seen wearing a green San Francisco Giants hat, a white and black checkered face mask, a black t-shirt, light blue jeans and black Vans-style shoes.
