SCOTTS VALLEY, Calif. (KION) Scotts Valley police say K-9 Odin helped them find drugs in a vehicle after a possible drug deal.

A witness called police Sunday night and said they saw what appeared to be a drug deal between a man and two women in a parked car.

When officers got there, they found two women in the vehicle. Police said they gave conflicting statements and had no reason to be parked in that area.

While officers were talking to them, K-9 Odin alerted the officers to the smell of controlled substances in the vehicle.

Inside, police said they found meth, heroin, prescription medication, drug paraphernalia and items potentially related to the sales of controlled substances.
