Santa Cruz County officer rescues skunk with head stuck in gopher trap
SANTA CRUZ COUNTY, Calif. (KION) An officer with the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is smelling like a skunk after rescuing one.
Officer Carlos Montes responded to help a skunk that got its head stuck in a gopher trap Tuesday morning.
The skunk was safely freed and released back into the wild, but Montes was sprayed in the process.
