SEASIDE, Calif. (KION)

A member of the California State University, Monterey Bay "campus community" has tested positive for COVID-19. A CSUMB spokesperson tells KION there is no impact on campus services.

CSUMB learned about the positive test result on Friday, according to Aaron Bryant, the school's Director of Communications and Marketing.

"The Incident Management Team and Health & Wellness Services responded promptly to the notification and ensured that all health and safety measures are in place," Bryant writes in an email to KION.

He says the potential risk of spread of campus is low, with the school operating under their "shelter-at-home" plan. CSUMB suspended their classes on March 12, and on May 12 announced their Fall 2020 semester will be done through "virtual instruction," with limited exceptions.
