3.7 Magnitude quake rattles parts of Central Coast

PAICINES, Calif. (KION-TV) -- Some Central Coast residents felt quite the jolt Thursday afternoon after a USGS-reported 3.5 magnitude earthquake rattled parts of Monterey County.

USGS data reports the epicenter of the quake was northwest of Pinnacles, Calif.

Residents from as far south as Soledad and in the Monterey area reported feeling the quake.

A preliminary report suggested the earthquake was measured at a magnitude of 3.7. That has since been reduced.
