SAN BENITO COUNTY, Calif. (KION) A man was revived after an apparent overdose in San Benito County.

Deputy Espejo with the San Benito County Sheriff's Office and his trainee responded to a report of an overdose in the Santana Ranch neighborhood Saturday night and found a man who appeared to have overdosed on an opiate.

Espejo had Narcan in his patrol car and administered it. The Sheriff's Office said it worked as intended, and the man was revived.

The man was then treated by AMR medics and Hollister Fire Department crews and taken to the hospital.

The Sheriff's Office said a member of its corrections staff also saved a man in the San Benito County Jail recently.
