Greenfield and Chupicuaro, Mexico to become Sister Cities

GREENFIELD, Calif. (KION) Officials from Greenfield announced on social media that it will soon have a new Sister City.

Its new Sister City will be Chupicuaro, Guanajuato Mexico.

Greenfield officials will travel to Chupicuaro for a public ceremony to make it official on May 20.

According to the city, more than 300 Greenfield families are from the Chupicuaro area.

According to the Sister Cities International website, "A sister city, county, or state relationship is a broad-based, long-term partnership between two communities in two countries. A relationship is officially recognized after the highest elected or appointed official from both communities sign off on an agreement to become sister cities."
