Collision reporting center opens in Salinas

The second collision reporting center in the state opened in Salinas on Thursday.

The City of Salinas, Salinas police and Accident Support Service International are behind the center.

Drivers who get in crashes that do not involve injuries or criminal conduct will be directed to file a report there. After that, drivers will get information about the next steps they need to take.

“By having a center they can come to, right next to the Police Department, they can have a comfortable place where they can exchange information, compile a police report and get help from a professional. It will provide a great service because they won’t have to waste so much time waiting for someone to respond,” said Roberto Filice, the Salinas Police Department assistant chief.

The center is located at Salinas City Hall on Lincoln Avenue.
