Fatal accident on Espinosa Road

One person was killed and four were injured in an accident outside Castroville Friday night, according to California Highway Patrol.

The head-on-crash between a pickup truck and a sedan happened on Espinosa Road east of State Route 183 at around 6:30 p.m. CHP describes the injuries to the four people as “moderate.”

Officers on scene tell KION that drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played a role in the crash.

Espinosa Road is currently closed, as of 7:27 p.m., and drivers are told to avoid the area.
