Person stabbed multiple times during after-party fight in Monterey

Monterey police and the Peninsula Regional Violence and Narcotics Team, or PRVNT, are investigating an attempted murder outside the Indian Summer Bar early Sunday morning.

Police responded to the bar in the 200 block of Olivier Street at around 1:54 a.m. after receiving a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found someone suffering from multiple stab wounds. The victim was taken to Natividad Medical Center and is expected to survive.

During the investigation, police said they found out that an after-party from an earlier event in Seaside was being held at the bar. They said a fight started and partygoers were kicked out. After that, a large fight broke out between several people near Olivier and Scott streets that resulted in the stabbing, according to police.

PRVNT is assisting, and investigators think there were witnesses during the fight. Anyone with information about the stabbing is asked to call investigators at 831-646-6926.
